I just read about a controlled trial of the fathers role in breastfeeding, that mothers breastfeed significantly longer, when fathers have been well informed about the singular advantages of breastfeeding before. The well informed fathers were able to support the mothers. In a controll group of only superficial informed fathers the mothers significantly more often complained about having too less milk or having other problems with breastfeeding.
